Idea --- making a marshmallow catapult website: http://www.cosi.org/educators/activities/catapult-act/
MARSHMALLOW MADNESS ...
  • make a video and "web 2.0" type place - moodle - that has pictures, chat, information, data collection, videos, resources, etc...
  • 4th and 5th graders could put the data together and reflect
  • should we provide materials?
  • after we show the initial experiment, they need to then put the inquiry part into the process afterwords and change the variables
  • we should set parameters and any deviation would be the inquiry part so we have a "control" experiment
  • at our presentation... have everyone catapult their own marshmallows to try
  • are the questions that we want to ask content or tools or both?
  • could we get the board office to be involved too? Principals??
